About the Artist:

Ed Vargas

Born : Edward Alexander Vargas (professionally known as Ed Vargas), on July 28, 1968, in San Angelo, Texas. A Country Music singer, songwriter, and performer. Raised in Garland ,Texas. Ed’s working life started at a local fruit stand in the eighth grade, at which time he began realizing that he really wanted to be a full-time musician. Driven by the influences of Merle Haggard , George Jones , Ronnie Milsap and later George Strait , he taught himself to play the acoustic guitar. In 1986, he teamed with fellow music enthusiasts and High School friends Donnie Attaway , Darren Landry , and Brian Maynor ; and formed the group “Crossroads” .The group performed regularly at “Dumplin’s” – a local cafe in Garland, Texas where their first paying gig brought them about 7 dollars each. In 1988 , Vargas took his love for music and decided to pursue a degree in Radio Broadcast from Elkin’s Institute of Broadcasting and began work as an on air Deejay at Greenville , Texas Country station KEMM 92.1 FM . After receiving advice from an up and coming artist that he had met doing a promotional event in Sulphur Springs , Texas named Garth Brooks .Vargas packed up everything he had in his Mazda truck and moved to Music City .During the early 1990s, Ed performed at Nashville-area honky-tonks with a group comprised of The Brothers : Marty and John Copley ,Himself , and a Drum machine . Working full-time as a Manager of the Green Hills Location of the Chattanooga based hamburger chain “Krystal”. Paying dues by night in local Talent competitions and open mic nights . Ed’s peers at these events would include Tracy Lawrence and Daryle Singletary . 1993 would find Mr Vargas still managing fast food restaurants and he was even practicing daily with a 19 year old Billy Currington .

In 1995, after a record deal seemed out of reach ,Vargas moved back to Dallas, Texas where he joined a band called “Lonesome Heart”. He fronted that band then, later joined another called “Quarter Moon” where he would play acoustic rythym guitar and take a secondary lead singer position backing Keith Kimberlin. This was a great experience that would put him on the best stages in the Dallas /Ft Worth area .Ed stayed with Kimberlin’s group for a while before fronting his own band, “Four Strings Shy”. All the while , Ed was perfecting his craft and shaping the signature Pure Country Sound that you hear today . His writing has only gotten better too . Original songs for Ed include titles like “Raincheck For The Pain” , “I’ll Try” , and “Do You Think Of Me ? ” . In Ed’s words , “It’s been a long hard road , but I wouldn’t trade a second of any of it . I’m making the best music of my life – Pretty sure that I wasn’t ready for a record deal mentally or emotionally when I was in Nashville .”- – Ed Vargas is Country Music .
